2009 Aston Martin LMP1

After the 50th anniversary of its overall win in the Franco Enduro, Aston Martin will roll out a pair of the 2009 Aston Martin LMP1race car for a sure win in the 2009 Le Mans 24-hour race which will be held from June 13 to June 14.

The duo would carry the iconic blue and orange livery of Gulf Oil which has long been the largest partner of Aston Martin. Lola, Micheline, Koni and BBS are also at work for Aston Martin in developing the two LMP1 coupes.

Designed based on the 2008 Charouz Racing System Lola, Aston LMP1 will be powered by the same production-based V12 engine that made Aston Martin consistent in grabbing the Le Mans GT1 title last year.

Aston Martin Chairman, David Richards has so much faith that the new Aston Martin LMP1 will grab wins in this year’s Le Mans he looks forward to the race as an opportunity to put on display the “ingenuity of British engineering talent.”
