Audi E1

The Audi E1 is another practical car that’s ideal for driving in the city jungle where you need to run fast and park fast. This new model is the latest rumor to hit the mill which could be welcome news for those who want something small and practical to carry them all around town on a daily basis. It is supposed to share the same platform with the Vokswagen Up and is reportedly eyed for production right at Volkwagen’s Slovakia plant.

The Audi E1 will be powered by a 1.2-Liter three cylinder engine or a 600xx two cylinder turbo engine and is expected to be an ultra-efficient car with petrol and diesel options. The launching of the Audi E1 in 2011 will coincide with the introduction of a hybrid model powered by Lithium-polymer batteries. It will still have the stereotyped Audi look to include the big front badge, alloy wheels and the mesh grille.

Small it definitely will be and is eyeing to compete with other members of the small family of cars to include the Fiat 500 hybrid and the Smart electric Fortwo. Tagged as a 2+1 car with some space for cargo, the Audi E1 is expected to have a price tag of 13,500 Euros. Not bad considering that this auto will have a touchscreen device with satellite navigation, mobile device, MP3 and front and rear LED.
