GM Inside News said that the engineering sources have clarified that GM has been developing a 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine, which has even been assigned a PRO code of ‘LF3.’ The assignment of a PRO code validates the suggestion that this engine will end up…

GM and joint-venture partner Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp. is set to take three versions of the new EN-V “urban mobility” concept to the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China.  The EN-V is a very small, two-seat, two-wheeled vehicle meant for transporting people around urban centers.

The two companies couldn’t have chosen a better venue to display such a vehicle.  Shanghai has the largest number of people living in the city proper than any other place in the world. With nearly 20 million people living in the entire metropolitan area, the city’s traffic is infamously bad.  The EN-V will be shown in the SAIC-GM Pavillion with a system meant to clear up…

Last year, Suzuki has announced that they have parted ways with General Motors at the companies’ CAMI joint-venture plant in Ingersoll, Ontario. And with the separation, Suzuki will also no longer take part on GM’s hybrid and hydrogen fuel-cell technologies.

Suzuki and General Motors had been collaborating on hybrid and hydrogen technologies, but that tie will come to an end as Suzuki swings to Volkswagen. The shift may be due to the recent 19.9 percent stake purchase of the VW in Suzuki, making the former the largest stakeholder of the Japanese automaker.

“Suzuki is in a comprehensive alliance with Volkswagen. In every field including hybrid, diesel and electric cars, we will carry…

In order to maintain operations, Saab needed a quick resolution,” said GM Europe President Nick Reilly. “We regret that we were not able to complete this transaction with Spyker Cars.…

Even if GM does not admit it, we all know that its poor management led General Motors down the path to bankruptcy. But President Obama’s auto task force was shocked with the kind of mismanagement they have seen in Detroit. The auto task force is responsible for the restructuring and bankruptcy efforts at GM and Chrysler.

Steve Rattner spoke to Fortune Magazine for the first time and told the magazine how bad the situation was when the task force arrived. . “Everyone knew Detroit’s reputation for insular, slow-moving cultures. Even by that low standard, I was shocked by the stunningly poor management that we found, particularly at GM,” Rattner said.
