Honda to Close Down European Design Team

Due to the bad global economy, many car makers are forced to close plants and factories, in Honda’s case the latest victim of the current financial climate is its European design studio. Honda’s European Studio is located just outside of Frankfurt, Germany, and it will close at the end of next month.

Honda has decided to close its car and motorcycle design studios at its Offenbach R&D center by the end of November. However, only the studio will be closing, Honda will still continue its R&D operations in another location

Weeks before its official introduction at the Tokyo Motor Show, Honda has revealed its retro themed EV-N concept car. The EV-N concept car looks like a modern version of the Honda N360 and N600 kei cars, the new cars will have some innovative functions like a custom-fitted unicycle holder.

The EV-N is designed for the urban jungle like Tokyo, which kind of explains the unicycle holder. If you open the passenger door you will find something like a speaker set up, but its not. If you really look at it, it’s the U3-X unicycle, which works more or less like a Segway.

Like in Ford Escapade, Honda has quickly improved also its Insight EX electric vehicle from the criticism during their released of this model earlier. So far, critics are praising the Honda team for despite the harsh words and criticisms in the Honda Insight, the production team did their best to catch-up so soon.

Honda’s new concept cat, the CR-Z was already seen in auto shows like North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, the Paris motor show and Tokyo Motor shows. The new sporty hybrid had people staring and praising for Honda’s new baby.
