Ford prices its new V8-powered Mustang GT. The vehicle’s price will start at $30,495 including destination.

The uplevel Mustang GT Premium will be starting at $33,695. Both prices represent a roughly $1,000 increase over 2010 models, although a more powerful and more efficient powertrain is part of the picture for 2011.

The Mustang GT gtes a new 5.0-liter, 412-horsepower V8 for 2011 that offers 26 mpg highway fuel economy with its standard six-speed manual transmission. The all-new 5.0 DOHC V8 has twin independent variable cam timing and all aluminum construction to make the most of its horsepower and 390 lb-ft. of torque.

The 5.0 nameplate from Ford will be soon reintroduced, along with the “Boss” nameplate. However, only a limited number of track-ready, 5.0 powered, Boss-labeled 2011 Mustangs will be sold in parts counters of Ford’s local dealerships.

Ford will also be offering a 302R Mustang that is based from the street-legal 2011 Mustang GT that is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 engine. Ford will be using a more powerful and fuel efficient engine for the 2011 Ford Mustang.  A 3.7 liter 24-valve all-aluminum Duratec engine will be fitted into the 2011 Ford Mustang that can produce 305 horsepower and up to 380 pound feet of torque. That’s 95 horsepower more than the 2010 model’s 210 horsepower 4.0 liter V6 engine.

The engine will be paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and short-throw shifter, with a hill-assist automatic transmission also offered. Fuel economy with the manual averages at 18 mpg city and 29 mpg highway. The automatic improved with 30 mpg on the highway.

Ford has recently launched a unique online customization website for the 2010 Mustang. The site, Ford Vehicles, allows users to create personalized Mustangs with a selection of Roush and Ford aftermarket products.

Online users can start by choosing an exterior color scheme (complete with decals) and then advance to a series of menus where they can add different grilles, hoods, and other various body components.
