Subaru Preparing Next Gen SVX

Subaru is currently busy preparing its new entry level coupe that will be based on the Toyota FT 86. Even though Subaru is busy with the coupe, it is also starting work on a new two door performance car that will rival cars like the BMW M3.

According to reports Subaru is going thru with their plans to make a vehicle that will be based on the Hybrid Tourer Concept, the new car will be revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show. The car will also be similar to the Subaru SVX of the early 1990s.

The new age SVX will be powered by Subaru’s 2.5L turbocharged boxer-four engine. Although no more details…

Sketches Of The New Subaru FT-86 Hits The Net

Toyota has already provided its share of the Toyota-Subaru joint venture – the FT-86. But we have not yet heard about Subaru’s version of the car, however, sketches of Subaru’s take on the 2+2 has recently hit the net.

While the FT-86 is ready for its auto show debut, the Subaru version is lagging much further behind. Because of Subaru’s rather shallow pockets, its version is literally still on the drawing board, with these sketches — revealed by Autocar – showing the coupe’s progress, or lack thereof.

Subaru Stella Electric Vehicle is now $18,900 less!

Subaru announced recently that their first ever Stella EV Electric Vehicle is going on sale to retail customers in Japan this coming summer. And what is good news about this, they lesser the price of Stella EV from $47,900 to $29,000 only!

This new baby is super cozy. It has a smaller battery at 9.2kWh, which yield an actual range of just 55 miles. To avoid batteries from overheating, they Subaru limited its top speed to 60 mph and the car can be quick charged to 80 percent in 15 minutes at special high power charging stations.

Subaru started production of 170 Stella EVs recently, within days of Mitsubishi launching the iMiEV.

Lars Martensson’s Subaru Impreza WRX STI Concept Looks Menacing

This is not the Phantom Menace but it looks equally menacing as the alien invaders in Star Wars. The Subaru Impreza WRX STI concept may be conservative but trust Lars Martensson to offer an alternative and more gregarious version. Thus, expect his version to have a shortened wheelbase with wildly flared wheel arches as well as gaping intakes, rear spoiler and hood air scoop.

The Impreza WRX started shipping last 2001 and since then it has established itself credibility-wise. However, Subaru has not yet reached its pinnacle design-wise and has even been faulted for manufacturing ugly Impreza variants. The 2010 Subaru Outback is a sports utility wagon with a price tag of $22,995 exclusive of the $695 destination and delivery fee. The Subaru Impreza WRX SPT was introduced to the public during the Las Vegas SEMA show. This custom-built auto has a tuned 2.5-Liter intercooled turbo Boxer engine producing 275 horsepower and a torque of 250 pound-feet.
