Tesla Motors has eagerly shared some more photos of its upcoming Model S all-electric sedan. Check out the photos and you’ll see Tesla’s chief designer, Franz Von Holzhausen, behind the wheel doing a few laps.

The Model S is a 3,825 lbs sedan that seats 5 with an additional 2 rear-facing seats under the hatch, very fitting for children. Tesla claims that the Model S will have a range of up to 300 miles (483 km) and do the 0 to 60 mph (100 km/h) sprint in 5.6 seconds. Top speed will be limited to 130 mph (210 km/h). Recharging can be done from 120v, 208v or 240v outlets.

With the assistance of a $465 million loan from the U.S. Department of Energy, Tesla will setup a new R&D and production facility in the Stanford Research Park in Palo Alto. The lease includes a three-building complex, covering 369,000 square feet.

The electric vehicle maker will develop and manufacture EV components, mainly drivetrains, at the new site and will also make it as its headquarters which is originally in San Carlos.

“Silicon Valley and the Stanford Research Park are synonymous with innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Tesla CEO and Product Architect Elon Musk. “It’s an ideal place for a new car company trying to rethink many aspects of the traditional automotive business.”
