The Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger have not been the best sellers in the immensely competitive mid-size sedan segment. However, even with such small sales Fiat has decided to extend the life of the four-door twins, extending production until at least 2012.
The previous plans for Chrysler while still under control of the Cerberus Capital Management – the Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger were set to end production in 2010. But with nothing in the pipeline to take the place of the sedans Fiat has decided to extend the production of the Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger until 2012.
Fiat also has similar plans to refresh schedule for several other Chrysler products, including the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans; Dodge Journey and Caliber; Jeep Compass and Patriot, and even the lame-duck Chrysler PT Cruiser. The refreshes will be complete by 2011, with a new, Fiat-based lineup set to hit the market by 2012 or 2013.
