
Joining the luxury hybrid bandwagon started by Lexus, Infiniti has also confirmed it will release a hybrid version of its all new 2011 M. The car will be called the Infiniti M35 Hybrid, the environment friendly luxury sedan will arrive in Infiniti dealers this coming spring 2011 as a 2012 model.
The hybrid car will be based on the next generation of the M sedan, the M35 Hybrid will be the first Nissan car to use the automaker’s in-house developed hybrid technology. Infiniti says the new technology allows for “linear performance” while keeping the driving dynamics of a conventional rear-drive vehicle.
The hybrid car will be powered by a “laminated” lithium-ion battery pack. The technology for the battery was developed by Infiniti’s parent company Nissan. The M35 Hybrid will be available in the United States and Europe.
