Mazda2 Coming to America: Confirmed for L.A. Auto Show Unveiling

North America will be soon seeing another hatchback model. This time, it’s the Mazda2 that will be debuting in the Los Angeles Auto Show next month.

“Bringing the Mazda2 to North America completes the bookend in our lineup…with the seven-passenger crossover CX-9 at one end and the subcompact Mazda2 at the other,” according to Jim O’Sullivan, president and CEO of Mazda North American Operations.

In addition to the Mazda2’s debut, Mazda will also showcase its full 2010 lineup at the LA Auto Show, including the Mazda3, Mazda5, Mazda6, MX-5, RX-8, Cx-7 and CX-9.

Named as 2008’s World Car of the Year, Mazda2 is sold globally with a 1.3 and 1.5 Liter gasoline/petrol engines as well as two diesels- a 1.2 and 1.6 Liter.

Mazda has yet to confirm though if the Mazda2 that will be sold in North America will differ from the Mazda2 already available elsewhere.
