The gullwing is typically found in aircraft doors but after Mercedes-Benz confirmed that a gullwing Mercedes car is indeed under wraps you cane expect to see this aircraft type auto sooner than you think. Spy shots of the gullwing have hounded auto enthusiasts for months now and finally its existence has been confirmed.
Mercedes will take you to a wild ride by revisiting the 300 SL Gullwing one of its most famous cars way back 1954. The wing-like doors are very impressive and are functional too. The Gullwing had eight-cylinder fuel injection engines that won several prestigious races including Targa Florio, Le Mans and the 1955 Mille Miglia endurance race which made popular the very young Dennis Jenkinson and Stirling Moss.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG will have a 6.3-Liter V8 engine producing 571 horsepower. The gullwing will be ultralight with an aluminum spaceframe body allowing it to fly high on the tracks or even on the road. Don’t expect to fall head over heels in love with the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG photos though because all you will be seeing is a camouflaged auto looking like a Frankenstein with lots of black duct tape.
