Porsche’s Cayenne has never been known for its fuel economy. But Porsche is now considering of changing that with the next generation of the sporting SUV. The next iteration Cayenne family will include a hybrid model, which pledges to be the most efficient model in Porsche’s lineup.
The next-gen Porsche Cayenne Hybrid will come with a 325 horsepower 3.0 liter supercharged V6 paired to a 38kW electric motor. With both engines, the vehicle comes with power totaling to 375 hp.
According to Autocar, the Cayenne Hybrid will return up to 34.5 mpg and emits just 193 g/km C02. That’s 5mpg better than the base model Cayman, not bad for a vehicle that can tow 7,700 pounds and still accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour in 6.5 seconds.
Porsche still has not yet revealed the next-generation Cayenne, but it is rumored that the Cayenne Hybrid will debut at March’s Geneva Motor Show. Sales should follow shortly after, with UK customers getting the first glimpse of the new Cayenne lineup in May.
